Amazing Video I found on Youtube

Introduction

My very first wall I ascended!
After years of playing football and plenty of plastic turf scars later I decided I needed to try a different sport. I wanted to try and work my upper body much more, and luck would have it a friend of mine was a keen indoor climber and invited me to have a go. From the moment I clambered onto the first wall I was hooked!

Although I have experience in caving and the general pitch climbing associated with this, the first session on the wall proved to me that there was so much more to climbing than I first anticipated. Not only was it a very tough physical work out, but at the same time there was a mental aspect - trying to work out and plan how to ascend the wall, an interesting logical puzzle with the ultimate goal of reaching the top. This was awesome!

The fact that I am buzzing from my first encounter with an indoor climbing centre has led me to create this blog in learning to climb. From the off I have had so many questions and wanted to learn so much that I thought it an excellent idea to show my learning curve in the form of this blog. From the questions such as "How do I learn to belay safely" to "Why do my arms ache so much".

So this blog is intended to be my journey in learning to climb, I hope it helps others who wish to try this amazing sport.
